The whole study will be completed on the M-path app. What is m-Path?
You will be given a participant information sheet and informed consent document. Please read these documents carefully and only take part if you agree to the conditions.
You will then fill out a questionnaire containing questions on rumination, your experience of autoimmune related symptoms, and symptoms of depression, stress, and anxiety, taking about 10 minutes
You will watch either a 10-minute video or 20-minute video discussing rumination
The next day you will be asked to fill out a questionnaire containing questions on rumination, your experience of autoimmune-related symptoms, and symptoms of depression, stress, and anxiety, taking about 10 minutes
2 days later you will fill out the same questionnaire (10 minutes)
Another 2 days later you will fill out the same questionnaire (10 minutes)
Another 2 days later you will fill out the same questionnaire once more (10 minutes)
The study will take 10 days total
After the completion of the study, you can email the practitioner code used to access the study to s.a.france@qmul.ac.uk to receive a £10 Amazon voucher.
You will then be invited to a follow up call where the researcher will ask you some questions about your experience of the study. This is optional.
First you will need to download the m-path app. Instructions for this can be found in the email you will be sent upon selection for the study.
Once downloaded you will be required to create an account. It will ask you for a nickname. Please do not use your own name, you must make this nickname something entirely unrelated to you so that you cannot be identified through your username. This is extremely important for data protection.
On being selected on to the study you will be sent a practitioner code for the m-path app
You can use this practitioner code to access the study
When you are required to take an action m-path will send you a notification to complete the activity. This notification will look like any notification you might receive from any other app, such as a news app, messaging app or social media app.
Please complete the activity on the day of the notification.
We are looking for an equal number of both male and female participants, and therefore there will be limited spaces. By completing the form below, you are agreeing to the use of the data disclosed. However, your email will remain separate from any of the data collected in the study and therefore will remain anonymous.
